::Rai Amdir Valen, Ranger-Captain of Lothlorien::
Full Name: Rai Amdir Valen
Gender: Male
Race: Elf
Age: 2865
Homeland: Lothlorien
Personallity:
Though young for an elf Rai is very calm and disciplined. He tends to only speak when spoken to, and hardly ever speaks his own mind without apologizing out of habit. He always seems to be beyond focused and deep in thought, some mistake it for arrogance or and uppity state of being.
He holds no love for many of the other races. He views nearly all of them to be lacking discipline and morality. That being said, he has a high respect for the Rangers of Ithilien, respecting their "do or die" mentality and their will to survive. A few other sects of races catch his eye, but nothing on the same level as those Rangers.
With all his personal discipline, Rai has never developed the ability to do any type of magic, not even minor cantrips. It drives him to near depression when he works so hard at everything else and cannot do one thing his race is naturally blessed with. This feeling though is highly secretive and covered up. Few elves of him know how it affects him, yet alone anyone else.
Appearance:
- Not pictured, the greenish gray cloak that Rai wears over the entire armor set.
- The two blades are to be ignored, Rai does not dual wield.
- Unless special circumstance, Rai keeps his flowing black hair back in a tight, multi-braid ponytail.
History:
When he came into this world his mother named him Rai, but his father scoffed that the name was far too unfitting and took to calling him Amdir after the second Sindarin lord. The name has stuck with his friends and family, but upon joining the border guard, they used his first name, Rai.
Growing up was very casual. There was never a strict regiment of living. He was educated at a steady pace and martial training was hit and miss, never fully enforced. His mother thought the lax life would give him time to decide what he wanted to do with his life. His father did not agree. When the border guard came looking for help to look out for the bands of unchecked goblins and orcs his father signed him up without hesitation, much to his mother's dismay.
At first it nearly broke the boy. He'd never been forced to do anything, especially training. Between the running, sparring, shooting, and education Rai was on the verge of self-destruction. Then one day, after collapsing during a patrol, Haldir personall came to him. It wasn't like he'd never met the Marchwarden, but to have him come to your chambers and personally speak with you was something few new recruits recieved. The two shared a long talk and few know what exactly was said, but from that night on Rai was changed. He was more driven and focused. He started to develope a very strict discipline.
That was almost a century ago. Today, Rai is a Ranger-Captain who gets orders directly from Haldir. He is in charge of the borders between Moria and Lorien. Well versed in swordsmanship and bowmanship, he was awarded with a brooch of courage after carrying a fallen elf nearly five miles back to Lothlorien after a goblin ambush.
