The sun is high on this day, the sky a pale blue with a few clouds dotting the horizon. The plains are relatively quiet, the only sounds are those of Eomer and his eomen riding upon its ground hunting for the Uruk-Hai that have been ravaging the Westfold under the Banner of Saruman. Although forbidden by his King's advisor, Grima Wormtongue, Eomer seeks out these Uruk-Hai, and intends to destroy them.
These scum can't be far. The reports have suggested that they should be right in this area. "Men! Remain on high alert, there is no knowing when these abominations will attack." Eomer thinks of the ambush that sent Prince Theodred to his deathbed and laments for a moment, but continues his search.
Just then a rider to the west approaches waving his sword,
"There is smoke to the west!"
Eomer looks at the scout and rears his horse. "Eomen! We ride west!"
The men cheer as they begin turning west, Eomer at the head, spear raised high, as he and his men begin to ride west to destroy the Uruk-Hai.
Not fifteen minutes later Eomer and his men see the smoke as well as the village. There is a slaughter taking place, women and children running, and people trying to flee south towards Helms Deep. Eomer raises his spear and points it towards the attacking Uruk-Hai.
"Half the men circle south and strike the enemy on the other side!"
At this roughly half the unit detaches and begins to ride south west. Eomer turns to the remaining eomen.
"Rohirrim, we may be banished for destroying these foul beasts, but we ride to the rescue of our brethren! No longer will our lands go undefended! CHARGE!"
At this Eomer and his eomen take on a V formation and charge, Eomer blows his war horn three times, suprising the Uruk-Hai who quickly turn to face the charge. Eomer crashes through the line, stabbing at as many Uruk-Hai as he can, his men around him pushing further into the lines of the Uruk-Hai. When the charge ends Eomer throws his spear, impaling an unexpecting Uruk-Hai and unsheathes his sword Guthwine.
Eomer slashes down another Uruk-Hai when another comes running at him with a spear, Eomer's horse, Firefoot, veers to the left to avoid the spear but accidentally throws Eomer off, knocking off his helmet. Eomer quickly recovers brandishing his blade and dispatching a few more Uruk-Hai. Dodging a sword a rather large Uruk-Hai had swung, Eomer begins to trade bouts with the beast. He lunges at his unarmored neck but the beast swipes his sword out of the way and punches Eomer. Eomer a little dazed regains himself and slashes downward. The Uruk-Hai blocks it, locking the swords, and pulls its face close to Eomer's. It lets out a long growl barring its teeth, drool and everything. Eomer then head butts the beast knocking it back and then spins, slicing off the beasts head.
Eomer roars in triumph as he downs the large Uruk-Hai when another one hits him from behind with the butt of its spear. Eomer falls face first into the ground losing his sword, and quickly turns around to see the same Uruk-Hai charging at him. Just then a spear flies through the air and penetrates the Uruk-Hai through the chest. Eomer turns to find his lieutenant riding his horse with a small grin on his face.
"I owe you one."
Eomer picks himself up and grabs his sword when he hears a similar horn blow coming from the west. The Rohirrim he sent around have finally arrived, chasing off the remaining Uruk-Hai in the area. The lieutenant who saved Eomer's life approaches him atop his horse and says,
"The Uruk-Hai are fleeing north towards Isengard, what do we do?"
Eomer thinks for a moment, pondering his next move,
"Only a few remain, let them flee to their master and warn him that their are still Rohirrim who will defy him."
At this Eomer stands up and whistles for Firefoot.
"Gather our dead, and burn the Uruk-Hai bodies. Eomen, we ride to Edoras."
