Full Name:Pallando the Blue
Gender: Male
Race: Istari/Maiar
Age: N/A as immortal. Around 2000 in mortal years
Homeland: Travels Middle Earth but is largely known in the South of Middle Earth.
Personality: Pallando is a strong willed and determined man. Often seen as too direct and forthright, he has the best interests for his friends at heart. He is wise and powerful like the other istari but is not usually held in the same regard as Gandalf or Saruman, for example. For this, he is slightly bitter. From this, he has also gained a slight sense of ambition which can sometimes leave those around him in danger.
Appearance: Pallando wears the robes of his Istari office. His name of 'the Blue' is in reference to the sea blue robes he wears similar to those of the other wizards. His hair is long, white and kept and his thick snow beard flows down to around the middle of his chest.
History: Little is known on Pallando since he arrived with the other istari. He was tasked to go South and free all those subdued and oppressed by Sauron and his servants. Pallando took another Istari with him to aid him in his task, Alatar the Blue, leading to the two being labelled the 'Blue Wizards'.
The wizards' task was to urge the local populace to rebel against their evil masters and be liberated from their rule. Pallando, with his blunt, and often forceful, diplomacy coupled with Alatar's cunning and knowledge of the ways of the local people, helped free some parts of Harad and Umbar.
Alatar however was not satisfied with liberation and justice, chose to subjecate and dominate the newly free lands. Secretly scheming and plotting with renegade bands of mercenaries and criminals, Alatar turned his sights to military agression.
Now free from the watchful eyes of the elves and the other Istari, Alatar fell into darkness. He delved into the works of shadow and evil and tried to take the weak and impressionable lands of the south for his own. Pallando, tempted by his partner to follow into the path of evil, almost succumbed to the prospect of power. Instead, however, Pallando defeated his old partner who soon vanished.
Consumed by the guilt of betraying his friend and ally, Pallando returned north to rejoin his fellow Istari hoping to discover what happened to Alatar. Pallando never reveals the goings in the South however, as he is ashamed of his part in the attack on Alatar and his close encounter of falling into darkness. Now, on a quest to aid the cause of good, Pallando will do all he can to help the defeat of Mordor but the ever present sense of guilt added to his subtle lust for power could make him a danger for those he seeks to aid.
Weapons: Pallando has a wizard staff made from wood with a blue jewel at its top symbolizing his blue wizardry and his love of the sea and water which has a close and deep knowledge of. The staff is the heart of Pallando's power without which he is weak.
Weapon Strength: The staff channels the wide range of magic at the wizard's disposal. It can also not be broken unless by the leader of the Istari order making it rather useful for bashing or hitting things that could get in the way.
Weapon Weakness: The weapon is rather heavy and requires skill and energy to use. It is therefore not useful on the battlefield against an army of orcs for example but can come in handy against one big and slow enemy or several small enemys.
Items: Pallando wears the Pendant of the Eastern Sun, an ancient and powerful necklace which protects from heat and flame . However, it is much weaker than it was due to the growth of Sauron's power and control of the East and is therefore only powerful enough to stop him from sweating on a hot day, for example. It is also a constant reminder of the absence of his close friend.
Other: (Any other information)
*I'm sorry about the stark lack of content. There's not much known about the character but he's still rather important in the book so I didn't want to do anything too radical or 'out-there' with him. If it needs any editing or changing just let me know and the site looks Brilliant too. Such a shame there are so few LOTR RPG's as good as this about anymore...
